The IRC GT has been granted eligibility to compete in both the North Island and South Island 1-Hour Endurance Series, ahead of the 2024 season.
The North Island 1-Hour Endurance Series is set to be contested across three rounds, with the season kicking off at Hampton Downs from May 3-4. Taupo Motorsport Park hosts the second round from May 24-25, before the season concludes at Manfield from June 7-8.
A schedule for the South Island 1-Hour Endurance Series has yet to be announced. The 2023 season was held across three rounds, at Ruapuna, Teretonga Park and Levels Raceway.
Both series provide an endurance racing category for a wide range of cars, with the IRC GT added to the list of cars able to go racing in New Zealand’s premier endurance racing championships.
Innovation Race Cars have already sold a chassis to a New Zealand based competitor. Recently, IRC owner Danny Stutterd steered an IRC GT chassis to victory in the Highlands 1-Hour.

“This confirmation is a fantastic step in our program with the IRC GT,” said Stutterd.
“I’ve always loved racing in New Zealand, there’s a great program over there for Endurance racing and the IRC GT is a great fit to slot right into that environment. We went over with the car recently and had some success at Highlands, which really proved what the car is capable of.
“We have already sold one car to a NZ competitor, and there’s plenty of interest in getting some more chassis’ over there. Everyone who has got behind the wheel of this car has just had an awesome time, it really is a great car to go racing in,” concluded Stutterd.
